Waypoint advises ESG consultancy Verco on its sale to BIP
Waypoint is delighted to have advised ESG consultancy Verco, on its sale to BIP, a leading multinational consultancy firm. Both are B Corp Certified.
Verco is the UK’s leading net zero carbon consultancy working with multinational corporations to reduce their environmental impact. As companies face unprecedented investor, government and public demand to meet their net zero targets, Verco assists by providing strategy, delivery and reporting solutions helping clients achieve, track and prove their progress towards a zero-carbon world.
Verco approached Waypoint because their management team wanted investment to support their global expansion, alongside technical expertise and resource to develop their proprietary software, all while respecting their B Corp-driven mission around creating a zero-carbon world.
After interrogating Verco’s brief, financials and growth narrative the Waypoint team facilitated a robust competitive buying process. They presented Verco’s leadership team with a range of cultural and strategic fit partners that could accelerate Verco’s ambitions and create attractive value realisation for shareholders and progression pathways for the team.
The transaction opens a new chapter for Verco, facilitating significant growth into new global markets and expertise to accelerate technical execution and speed to market. By coming together, BIP and Verco demonstrate their joint dedication to sustainability and addressing climate change. The deal is part of BIP Group’s broader strategy of non-organic growth, expanding its geographic coverage, supply of cutting-edge technologies, and international expertise and talent in the global market.

“It’s rare to find this in an advisory partner but I can truly say that our experience of working with Lisa Mandell, Jim Houghton, Joe Chiles, Mark Kohter and Chloe Maddocks at Waypoint Partners was faultless. They were proactive in their approach, their expertise was multifaceted and highly valuable. They were also unafraid to challenge our thinking whilst being truly supportive in a way that totally exceeded expectations.”
