Waypoint is delighted to have advised Oxford PharmaGenesis, the market-leading HealthScience communications consultancy, on its acquisition by Klick Health, the world’s largest independent commercialisation partner for life sciences.
A landmark deal for HealthScience communications
Founded in 1998, Oxford PharmaGenesis is the largest independent company in healthcare communications, with 500 people across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. It’s built real depth in scientific and medical expertise, medical affairs, and market access consulting. Combined with Klick’s commercial, creative, and analytics strength, the enlarged group will go further still in oncology and rare disease, alongside real-world evidence and health economics and outcomes research.
Oxford PharmaGenesis CEO Chris Winchester said: “At Oxford PharmaGenesis, we are always looking for ways to bring the very best to our clients and create outstanding opportunities for our people. Joining Klick Health will ensure that we remain at the cutting edge of HealthScience communications, but, more importantly, our shared values ensure a bright future together.”
COO Richard White added: “This is the story of two successful companies growing strongly by themselves, driven by a desire to give clients what they are going to need next, and realising that we could achieve that better together. We are excited to continue building on our unrivalled heritage and unlocking new possibilities for our clients and our people.”
Waypoint’s role
We worked closely with the shareholders on a process built around one goal: finding the partner best placed to back the business’s ambitions while protecting the culture that shaped it. For Chris and Richard, this was never just about finding a buyer, it was about finding the right home for what they’d created.
